Hi,
Traditionally, antivirus software heavily relied upon signatures to identify malware. This can be very effective, but cannot defend against malware unless samples have already been obtained and signatures created. Because of this, signature-based approaches are not effective against new, unknown viruses.....

Thanks for taking the time to post this. I found it very useful - I had problems with the resource file name, though. If I used a relative path like "images/logo.jpg", it would look for the file in the visual studio working directory (during debug). I ended storing the image's full path in a configuration parameter and then it worked great.

hi there

we are currently migrating from Windows 2000 to Windows XP. As part of our install script we copy a shortcut .lnk file from the server to the user's pc. This link file is already set up with the appropriate target and more importantly A SHORTCUT KEY combination to launch the link. ie. Ctrl + F9. However for some reason this shortcut key does not work on XP but it worked on 2000 fine. You have to physically go into the shortcut and reassign the Shortcut key then all works fine. The question i have is how can we fix this. Is this something stored in the registry that we can poke to assign the Shortcut key again. If not then we do use AutoIt so maybe we can build something in that to assign the shortcut key on the installation.

If you can assist then we would be most grateful. Thanks in advance, Simon

This actually worked for me and this is great code. I have visited so many sites but never have I seen some one give so much details about implementation. The speciality of this code is that you can just use it as is with minimum changes as per your requirement.

Thanks for the resource string macro - it would have taken me ages to figure this out by myself.

The added resource wasn't saved in my file at first. I had to add this line:

resxFileWriter.Close()

and remove (or comment) these:
'' resourceFileProjectItem.Open()
'' resourceFileProjectItem.Save()

before it worked.

I found that AutoIT is more structured than AutoHotkey and this is something that can be useful to create and modify bigger Windows applications. But, the difference lies in the fact that for a casual-user, AutoHotkey is probably easier to start and to work with. It is also more powerful than AutoIT when it comes to managing shortcuts and/or hotkeys linked to simple tasks.
